How to flip a coin online

  • Tap the coin or the Flip button for a natural toss.
  • Or flick the coin upward: the harder you flick, the higher it flies.
  • It tumbles, lands, bounces and settles on heads or tails.
  • Give each side a meaning (“Heads: go out, Tails: stay in”) so the result decides something.

Is this coin flip fair?

Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys. The animation is just for fun: the outcome is drawn first and the physics is solved to land on it, so no option is favored.

Heads and tails each have exactly a 50% chance on every flip, and past flips never affect the next one.

Heads or tails for real decisions

Flipping a coin is a classic way to break a tie, but it's also a mirror. Before you look at the result, ask yourself which side you're hoping for. That hope is often the real decision. Read more in the coin flip trick guide.

Flip a Coin: questions

Is heads or tails 50/50 here?

Yes. Each flip is an independent 50/50 draw from a cryptographic random generator, so streaks happen by chance, not by design.

Can I flip a coin multiple times and see the results?

Yes. The page keeps a running tally of heads and tails and shows when you're on a streak.

Can I name the sides?

Yes. Type what heads and tails mean and the result shows your choice, like “Tails: Stay in”.

Why flip a coin to decide?

It ends overthinking fast, and the feeling you get when it lands often tells you what you really want.
